Our 6 Day Nature & Yoga Retreat Location in Rishikesh

Our retreat is based at Rishikesh Yoga Valley, nestled in the peaceful surroundings of Ram Jhula in Rishikesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas. The sacred Ganga River flows close by, and the whole area carries the calm, spiritual atmosphere that has made Rishikesh known as the Yoga Capital of the World.

Here, you’re surrounded by nature – lush greenery, quiet mountain air, while still being close enough to explore the temples, riverside ghats, and local markets that give Rishikesh its unique character.

Each morning begins with an energising yoga session, followed by time to relax, reflect, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the school. Evenings bring a chance to walk along the Ganga, watch the sunset from the riverbank, or take part in the Ganga Aarti – a moving ritual of lights and chanting held daily on the ghats.

Away from the noise of daily life, this setting offers the ideal balance of yogic learning, natural beauty, and spiritual stillness – everything a nature and yoga retreat in Rishikesh should be.

FAQ

Is This Retreat Right for Me?

Do I need yoga experience to join?

No – this retreat welcomes beginners through more experienced practitioners. Classes are paced so newcomers can follow along comfortably, and the emphasis on slowing down and reconnecting with nature makes it an easy entry point if you’ve never done a retreat before.

The core program is very similar – the same daily rhythm of pranayama, yoga, meditation, and excursions – so think of this as the 5-day retreat with one extra day and a stronger emphasis on nature immersion: evening walks along the Ganga, watching the sunset from the riverbank, and more unhurried time outdoors between sessions. If what you want is more time to slow down rather than a different curriculum, this is the one to pick.

Yes. Solo travelers – including solo women – join our retreats regularly, and Rishikesh Yoga Valley has hosted students from 50+ countries since 2016. Rishikesh itself is one of India’s most internationally welcoming towns. Our team can arrange your airport pickup and answer any specific safety questions before you book.

Price, Booking & Cancellations

What's included in the price?

The price covers 5 nights of accommodation (shared or private), 3 satvic vegetarian meals a day plus herbal tea, hot water for bathing, excursions around Rishikesh, and all yoga classes and activities in the itinerary. International students pay €210 (shared) or €260 (private); Indian students pay ₹14,500 (shared) or ₹18,000 (private).

Flights, personal expenses during your stay, and anything not listed in the inclusions above. Also excluded are your very first breakfast (before you arrive) and your very last dinner (after you’ve checked out), since those fall outside your actual stay – everything else in between is covered.

Book through the registration form on our Apply Now page, where you’ll also choose a shared or private room. A $50 USD deposit secures your spot, payable by PayPal, bank transfer, or Google Pay – full details are on that page. Our team will confirm the remaining balance and payment method with you directly.

If your plans change, your deposit isn’t lost – we’ll move your reservation to another available month rather than cancel it outright. For specific refund questions, confirm the current terms with our team before you book.

A Day in the Retreat

What does a typical day look like?

Most days follow the same rhythm: pranayama at 6 AM, a yoga class at 7 AM, breakfast at 8:30, then either an excursion or a philosophy/anatomy class in the afternoon, lunch and dinner together as a group, and an evening meditation, mantra session, or Ganga Aarti visit. Evenings often include a walk along the Ganga or watching the sunset from the riverbank. The full day-by-day schedule is above on this page.

This is a retreat, not an exam-based course, so there’s no attendance requirement. That said, the daily rhythm is part of what makes the reset work, so most guests do join every session. If you need to rest, just let your teacher know.

You’ll practice Hatha and Ashtanga yoga, pranayama (breathwork), and meditation, with sessions on yoga philosophy and anatomy woven through the week. Teaching is in English, with Hindi also spoken by the team.

Food & Accommodation

What's the food like, and can you handle allergies, vegan, or gluten-free diets?

Meals are satvic – vegetarian, freshly prepared – served three times a day plus herbal tea. Vegan diets and other requirements like gluten-free or specific allergies can usually be accommodated; just tell us when you book so the kitchen can plan ahead.

Both options are available, just steps from the Ganga River in the greenery of Ram Jhula. Rooms are clean and spacious with attached bathrooms, hot and cold showers, and comfortable bedding, and free on-site parking is available if you’re arriving by car.

Yes to all three – WiFi is available on-site, drinking water is filtered and safe, and hot water is available in every room. Yoga mats are provided, so you don’t need to bring your own.

Getting There & Visa

Which airport should I fly into, and is pickup free?

The nearest airport is Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport (DED), about 35 minutes from Rishikesh by car. If you’re arriving internationally, you’ll likely connect through Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) and then take a short domestic flight, train, or bus on to Dehradun/Rishikesh. Pickup from Dehradun is complementary for international students; Indian students are charged for this transfer.

Most nationalities travel on India’s e-Tourist Visa, which covers short-term yoga programs under six months that don’t award a certificate. It’s applied for entirely online and typically processed within a few days; a 30-day e-Visa is normally all you need. Apply a few weeks ahead of travel, and check your country’s specific eligibility on India’s official e-Visa portal before booking flights.

Plan to land the day before your retreat starts – check-in runs from morning to 9 PM (with flexibility if you let us know), and that first evening already includes lunch, an evening meditation or Ganga Aarti visit, and dinner. For timing your trip across the year, Rishikesh has real seasonal swing – cool winter mornings, a hot spell before the monsoon, then weeks of rain before the clearest, most comfortable stretch. See our Rishikesh Weather Guide for the full month-by-month breakdown.
