Yoga & Mango Love

Yoga & Mango Love

@rishikeshyogavalley

Mango Season was calling us ...

to go outside of Rishikesh center in the local areas on a organic little Mango farm and collect as many fresh and ready Mangos as possible.

Here the farmers wait until the ripe Mango falls from the tree to immediately collect them and sell them - directly on the farm ... no pesticides or other chemicals.

What you should know if you are a Mango Lover like us:

Mangos are hot, means they are heating up your body. Especially in the hot season we want to avoid this and rather go for coconuts or watermelons. BUT there is a solution: put the Mangos in water for a while (the water extracts the heat) ... then they are a go for eating and enjoying fully!!

If you want to not only practise Yoga with us but experience local ways of living with Mother Nature .... join us in one of our upcoming Retreats in India or Thailand.

Coconut

Coconut

Who else loves coconuts so much?
The coconut tree is one of the most powerful evidences of how Mother Nature nurtures us and gives us all we need to live a healthy and happy life. You can use the fruit not only as food and natural medicine but for your skin, hair and theeth and other useful purposes:

Coconut water: drink the fresh sweet and nut like tasty coconut water and energize and refresh your body and mind with all the supplements and nutrients that it contains and that are needed to stay healthy. Coconut flesh: eat it fresh, when it is very soft and young. When it gets old and hard you can either eat it raw, make it like a milk and use it for cooking and sweets or process it to oil and use it for cooking, for your skin (it not only nourishes your skin it also protects you from sunburn) and hair and as a tooth paste (it is used for clean and whitening) Coconut shell: make beautiful and sustainable bowls, spoons, plates, jewellery,… Coconut wood inside of the fruit: burn it to get rid of mosquitos, make it wet and cover your plants in the garden to keep them cool and watered Coconut flower: used for making delicious coconut sugar And in making use of all that you get directly nourished from Mother Nature itself and promote a sustainable way of living. Be like the Tree

Double exposure of silhouette of woman doing yoga in lotus position over tree. Concept of connection with the universe and nature.

YOGA teaches us that WE ARE NATURE ...

All asanas were inspired from Nature, its healing powers, its ability to recycle and balance itself
In practicing we can focus to remember that we have the same quality like NATURE as we are part of it.
A beautiful asana, which teaches us how to balance, be flexible and and strong ... is the Tree position (#vrksasana).
The TREE ...
Rooted in Mother Earth, growing towards the Sky, the Sun and the Moon.
Getting nourished from Mother Nature, the soil, the sun, the rain.
Bending and dancing within the storm. Opening up to the sunlight.
Recycling themselves after every winter and blossoming again.
Being home for other living beings. Spending live energy for other living beings.
Seeming to be silent for human beings, though singing beautifully spreading vibrations resonating with peace and happiness and joy.
BE LIKE THE TREE
  • connect to Mother Earth as much as you can
  • nourish your Self in a natural, plant based way
  • take Mother Nature as teacher and know you can do it like her
  • know how your system really works and how to ‘recycle’ yourself
  • find love, joy and happiness midst in your silence, when fully connected with Mother Nature and your Inner Self
  • know that you are able to spread your light, joy and happiness so that other people can get influenced from it in a very positive way
HOW TO PRACTICE
Stand straight, feet together, bend your knees a little bit, navel towards your spine, chin towards your chest, shoulders relaxed.
Take some deep breaths and focus on your feet. Let them ground into the earth.
Then focus your half closed eyes on one point in front of you, looking downwards. Concentrate on this point to stay grounded.
Shift all your weight to your left leg and bring your right foot either below or above your knee. Bring your palms together in front of your heart cakra.
Deepen your breath, exhale a little bit longer than you inhale.
Raise your arms up. Take some deep breath.
Bring your palms together again in front of your heart cakra.
Bring your leg down, and practice with the right leg standing.

Meditation Flight

A long time ago, a king gifted two children with two falcons. They were a great breed and the king had never seen such a great buzz before.

A long time ago a king gifted two children with two falcons. They were a great breed and the king had never seen such a great buzz before. The King appointed an experienced man to take care of them. After a while the king saw that both falcons had grown up and that they looked great. “I want to see them flying,” the king said to the man who took care of them. “You signal them to fly.” The man did so. One falcon started to fly, but when an eagle was touching the heights of the sky, he sat back and sat back and sat down and sat down. Seeing this, the king felt somehow strange. “What is the matter with this falcon? Whereas an eagle is filled with such a good flight, why the falcon doesn’t fly like this?” the king asked. The servant said: “Sir, this is the problem with the falcon. He does not leave the branch. He doesn’t know how to fly properly.” The next day the king announced in the entire state that the person who succeeded in raising this falcon will be given a lot of rewards. What was then, one of the scholars started trying to blow up the falcon, but after some weeks of trying, the falcon was the same. He flew a bit and then sat back and sat down. Then one day something unique happened. The king saw that his two falcons were flying in the sky. He did not believe his eyes and he immediately asked who did this. It was a farmer. The next day he appeared in the court. The King said: “I am very pleased with you. Just tell me what you have done to make the falcons fly high in the sky. Even the great scholars couldn’t do this.” “Boss! I am a simple farmer. And I don’t know much about falcons. I just cut the cast on which they had to sit and then both started to fly … the one falcon started flying up with its partner.”

We’re all made to fly high. But often we are doing so much that we forget our ability to fly high. We are sitting on the branch of fog, ignorance and unknowing.  While remain sitting on that branch, we have become unaware that we have the wings of the dhyānarūpī with which we can fly from matter to higher consciousness, to God.

In practicing meditation we become aware and we remember our natural ability to fly high. That means to live in oneness and unity with the highest consciousness to experience true bliss.

Heart touching beautiful story: “Humanity continues to be alive”

Something that touched my heart:
On my way I found a piece of paper tied to an electric pole, with a small note on it.I was curious to know what was written, hence went closer and read it:
“I lost Rs.50 somewhere on the road. If any of you find it, please give it to me at this address. My vision isn’t great so please help”
I was urged to follow that address and found an old hut in shatters with an older woman sitting outside. She was frail and asked who is it, following my footsteps. I said I came by this way, found Rs.50 on the road so wanted to handover to her.
She began crying on hearing this. She said: “My dear I have had at least 30-40 people come over and give me Rs.50 saying they found it on the road. I did not write that note. I cannot even see properly nor do I know to read and write.”
I said: “It’s OK amma. You keep it.”
But she requested me to tear that note off on my way back. I walked back with a million thoughts as to who could have written that note?
She would have asked everyone to tear that note but nobody did. I mentally thanked that person and realized that we just have to feel the need to help, there are so many ways to do it.
He/she just wanted to help this old woman who lives alone. Someone stopped me and asked: “Bro, can you help me with this address? I found a Rs.50 note, want to handover it.”
“Humanity continues to be alive”
